“GET TESTED” – A CAMPAIGN DIRECTED TO CARIBBEAN, AFRICAN AND SPANISH-SPEAKING COMMUNITIES
April 23th, 2014
The incidence of sexually transmissible infections (STIs) is on the rise across Canada. Information about sexual health is not readily available, and unless they have reason to be concerned, most people won’t take the initiative to become informed. Moreover, among Caribbean, African, and Spanish-speaking communities, subjects related to HIV, and sexuality in general, remain taboo.
The “Get Tested” campaign specifically aims to promote HIV and STI prevention and testing within these communities. With signage throughout the STM, radio ads, and various other activities, the campaign aims to positively reinforce people’s decision to get tested. The website for the campaign is available in French, English, and Spanish.
