JACK & JACQUES, AN HIV TESTING REMINDER SERVICE FOR GAY MEN
April 23th, 2014

ACCM is an English HIV/AIDS organization in Montreal, and a member of Fqsida. Its team of professionals and volunteers focus mainly on education and on the prevention of HIV transmission in Montreal communities with the highest risk for sexually transmissible infections (STIs) and HIV transmission. Services are also offered in French and Spanish.

JackJacquesJack & Jacques, a new website for gay and bisexual men in the Montreal metropolitan area, was born of a collaboration with the Direction de santé publique de Montréal. It aims to encourage HIV and STI testing using an approach that empowers men to take action. In particular, it offers an email reminder service for HIV testing. The optimal frequency of reminder emails is determined by a short, anonymous online sexual behaviour questionnaire.

The goal of Jack & Jacques, live since January 2014 in both official languages, is to educate men who have sex with men to help them better understand the risks related to their sexuality, the importance of knowing their HIV status, and the different methods of prevention available.
