A foundation at the heart of the fight

The Quebec Aids Foundation is an important player in alleviating the effects of this once deadly, but now chronic disease for thousands of Canadians. Together with the Farha Foundation, we have contributed more than $10,000,000 to various local organizations that share a community-based approach to the many challenges posed by HIV/AIDS in the community.

Valuable allies

The Foundation’s 19 member organizations are dedicated to halting the spread of HIV/AIDS, providing assistance and support to those living with the disease, and promoting the health of those affected by HIV/AIDS through shelter, prevention, education and support services. Our recipient organizations must be in good standing and meet very specific criteria for quality services.

At the heart of social initiatives

Farha Foundation Logo

In 2017, the Farha Foundation, organizer of walks against HIV/AIDS, merged with the Quebec Aids Foundation. This was to continue the work of Ron Farha and his mother, who raised over $10,000,000 during various events, and distributed these funds to 70 different organizations.

Pride Montreal Logo

We launch mobilization initiatives such as during the Montreal Pride Festival, with prevention and fundraising.

Quebec without AIDS Conference

In order to re-launch the topic of HIV/AIDS in the media following the COVID-19 pandemic, we organized and followed up on the International Aids Society (IAS) conference in Montreal, July 29-August 2, 2022, with an AIDS-Free Quebec: Setting Course for 2030 conference.

Founded in 1988, the IAS is the world’s largest association of HIV professionals, with members in over 170 countries. Together with its members, the IAS advocates for urgent action to reduce the impact of HIV. The IAS is also the organizer of the world’s most prestigious HIV conferences: the International AIDS Conference, the IAS Conference on HIV Science and the Conference on HIV Prevention Research.

Our member organizations

The member organizations funded by the Foundation are all non-profit organizations in Quebec. The money donated is therefore used locally, in your communities. These organizations must meet specific quality criteria, and their mission must be in line with that of the Quebec Aids Foundation.

How do your donations help?

Your donations provide information, support, reassurance and, most importantly, hope to those who are vulnerable to HIV/AIDS.

Your donations will help UNAIDS achieve its goals. By 2025, our common goal is that :

  • 95% of people living with HIV know their HIV status;
  • 95% of all HIV-infected people tested receive sustained antiretroviral treatment;
  • 95% of people receiving antiretroviral treatment have their viral load sustainably suppressed.

Your donations help inform, support, reassure, and above all give hope to those who are vulnerable to HIV/AIDS.
